Met Oval Teams Excel over Thanksgiving Weekend

Met Oval U-14 Academy beats NJSA 2-1 to extend their win streak

The Met Oval's U-14 Academy took three points in a strong road performance against fellow U.S. Development Academy club NJSA. Led by Met Oval Technical Director Paul Buckle, the Met Oval squad played true possession-based soccer, playing out of the back and through the midfield to maintain possession throughout the match.

Lucas Arzan and Oscar Pereira took charge in the midfield early in the game, and Met Oval opened a two goal lead on goals by Simur Imanov and Stefan Mirkovic.  Strong forward play by Misha Muller and DP Aziel Jackson kept the pressure on as the team extended their winning streak to two games.  U.S Soccer Federation scouts were on hand to watch the contest and were highly complimentary of the Met Oval style of play.

Met Oval's YDP program ( 8-10yr olds)  participated in their first tournament of the season this weekend by entering two teams at the Soccer Coliseum. Led by coach Hugo Guzman, the boys enjoyed the round robin format and played technical soccer throughout the day.  It was a day of great strides for the newly formed groups as they learned to play together, with notable individual performances from Ezra Widman and Diego Rossi.
