The Board also thanks Jim Vogt who, in his role as President, dedicated himself to the Metropolitan Oval’s mission of saving, restoring, and improving the historic Metropolitan Oval facility. Jim was instrumental in saving the Metropolitan Oval from foreclosure, installing a then-revolutionary FieldTurf playing surface, and leading the Metropolitan Oval to its designation as a U.S. Soccer Academy. Jim continues as a member of the Board.

The Board has commenced a search for an executive director, and will administer the Oval’s programs with the assistance of volunteers who have stepped forward to assist during the transition.
