Metropolitan Oval Appoints Filippo Giovagnoli as Director of Coaching

September 4, 2014 The Metropolitan Oval is pleased to announce the appointment of Filippo Giovagnoli as Director of Coaching.  Filippo will oversee all soccer-related activities at the club, including player and coach development, training curriculum, style of play, and interaction with the United States Soccer Federation and Met Oval’s affiliate clubs.

Filippo brings an abundance of experience and knowledge to Met Oval. Most recently Filippo was Technical Director of AC Milan’s Junior Camps in Italy and throughout the United States, and head coach of the Italian Soccer Training Exchange Program based on Long Island.  Following an 18-year professional career in his native Italy, Filippo turned to coaching, serving as head coach of Italian clubs Urbania, Urbino, Sansovino and Montegranaro. He also served as head coach of the U18 squad at A.S. Gubbio 1910. He holds a UEFA A License and a diploma in personal training from the International Sport Sciences Association.
