Met Oval Fall Update

This Fall has been exciting and full of progress for Met Oval.  We wish you a happy Thanksgiving, and look forward to seeing you on the field in the coming months!

USSF Development Academy U-14 Team Excels in North Carolina Showcase

The Met Oval's U-14 Development Academy team closed out a trip to the USSF Development Academy Showcase with a 3-2 victory over the Richmond Strikers.  Led by new coach and Met Oval Technical Director Paul Buckle, the Met Oval squad scored a season high three goals with a brace from Academy player Misha Muller.

The Showcase was also a great opportunity for Met Oval players to play in front of U.S. national team scouts.

Renovations to Met Oval Facility are Completed

As the only New York club with its own field, the Met Oval takes particular care in maximizing our facility's potential to best serve our players and coaches. Recently, we have completed a renovation of the office and locker room that directly overlooks the field.  The upgrades provide Academy coaches and players with state-of-the-art facilities that provide for session planning, reviewing player film, and study hall space for players.   All Met Oval coaches now use the same technology for session planning, which implements the unique Met Oval curriculum across the club at all age levels.

We look forward to taking full advantage of these new resources with our players in the coming months.

Five Met Oval Players attend USSF Regional Training Center

Five Met Oval players were invited to and attended the recent USSF Regional Training Center held at World Class, including Denzel Nash ('99), Peyton Lane ('00), Denilson Hernandez ('00), Aziel Jackson ('01), and Balthazar Saunders ('02).   The Regional Training Center is where U.S. national team scouts observe potential prospects for the national team pool.  Congrats to all of these players on their performances.
